What changed in the console on 22 and 23 October.
Setup on full screen
Setting up a company now happens on full screen, before A-REX opens, in seven steps: company, products, sites, team, keys, ledger and a review with Change links. Save and exit keeps your progress, and A-REX opens for the whole company when you select Finish and open A-REX. At sign-up you choose One company or A group of companies. One product catalog for a group
A group of companies now has its own setup and a Product catalog: one entry per commodity, keyed by its HS code, with a default unit and a shelf life. Each company adopts the entries it trades and gets the code of its own country, and the group decides whether companies may add products of their own. Official commodity codes
The product form and the setup search the official classification of your country by words or digits: NCM, CN, HTS, the UK Global Tariff, the Chilean tariff, HS and FAO items. Your country's code system is chosen first, a code outside the classification in force is refused, and Products lists the products whose codes need a new one. See Find a code in the classification.
Every trade unit
Every unit field lists the UN/CEFACT trade units the console converts, searchable by name or code, and a code from the classification suggests its unit. See Pick a unit.
Barcode and location numbers
Products take a GTIN (barcode number) and sites a GLN (location number), checked for typos and carried by every lot. See GTIN and GLN.
Sandboxes
A sandbox is a practice company next to your real ones, with a banner on every page. Fill it with a demo story, follow its practice checklist, reset it, then copy what works to production with Setup copy. See Practise in a sandbox and Setup copy.
A clearer header and menu
The company picker sits at the left of the header, the side menu reads in sections, and your language and theme are in your profile panel. A banner tells you when a security update of your records software needs your approval. See Find your way around the console.
The setup list as tiles
The setup list on Home shows one tile per section with its own progress. See Home.
