Cotton, from the field to the bale.

Record seed cotton by farm and season, keep ginning linked to every input, and hand on each bale with the certificates and the origin your buyers ask for.

The challenge

A gin buys from many farms, and a bale must still name them.

  • Many farms per gin

Seed cotton arrives from many farms, often through cooperatives, and the farms behind a bale are easy to lose.

  • One input, three products

Ginning splits seed cotton into lint, cottonseed and linters, and each is sold on its own.

  • Schemes that follow the fiber

Buyers ask for schemes such as Better Cotton, ABR, Cotton made in Africa and Organic, and for where the fiber was grown.

Products used

How A-REX runs cotton, step by step.

  1. 01

    Register harvests

Register seed cotton by farm and season in kilograms, recorded exactly, each lot with the origin reference of its farm or plot.

    • Kilograms by farm and season
    • Each lot with its farm or plot

  2. 02

    Field work and weather

Record planting, applications and irrigation on each plot as field work you define, with the rain and temperature at the plot that day and the next. Rain right after an application reads Wash-off risk.

    • Weather at the plot, that day and the next
    • Wash-off risk shown after an application

    Processing

Ginning splits seed cotton into lint, cottonseed and linters: each new lot names the seed cotton it came from. A control flags a step that puts out more weight than went in, and Humboldt explains the finding.

    • Lint, seed and linters keep their input
    • Output above input opens a finding

  4. 04

    Lineage

Open a bale to see the seed cotton and the farms behind it, and follow it forward to the spinner and beyond, even across companies.

    • From the bale back to the farms
    • Forward to every holder

  5. 05

    Network

Share certificates, lab results and plot locations with the customers you choose, item by item. Plots go only under a statement confirmed with a second factor, and the customer sees coordinates, never the farm's name.

    • Evidence shared item by item
    • Coordinates shown, never the farm's name

    Tracked deliveries

Ship bales to a spinner or a port once your lot rules have checked the receiver and the certificates. A tracked delivery keeps a custody record signed step by step and the route as recorded.

    • Receivers and certificates checked first
    • Custody signed step by step

The journey, stage by stage

Every step is a proposal a person approves.

  1. Start from the cotton chain

Lint, cottonseed and linters with their HS codes, in kilograms and tonnes, the schemes buyers ask about, such as Better Cotton, ABR, Cotton made in Africa and Organic, and what partners usually share: certificates and plot locations.

  2. Record the work on each plot

Planting, applications and irrigation as field work you define, with the rain and temperature at the plot that day and the next.

  3. Register seed cotton by farm

Each module or load is a lot in kilograms with the origin reference of its farm and its season.

  4. Gin, keeping the inputs

Ginning makes lint, cottonseed and linters lots that each name the seed cotton they came from. A control flags a step that puts out more weight than went in.

  5. Keep fiber results with the bale

Length, strength and micronaire results stay on the lot they describe, with the lab that issued them.

  6. Deliver to the spinner

Lot rules check the receiver and the certificates first. Plots are shared only under a statement confirmed with a second factor.

The evidence it produces

What a buyer, an auditor or a verifier you allow can read, with who declared each part.

Lineage
Each lot back to its inputs and their plots or farms, and forward to every holder.
Mass balance
Processing output against input, and the findings where it does not add up.
Certificates and lab results
Each with its issuer, its validity and its evidence level.
Trusted issuers
Which labs and certifiers the company trusts for each type, and when that changed.
Commodity codes
Each product with the code of your country, from HS and NCM to CN and HTS.
EPCIS and UNTP
Lot events as EPCIS 2.0, and the UNTP product passport of a lot.

An evidence check lists what the records hold. It is not a legal opinion and never says that a lot complies.

Regulation crosswalk

What each rule asks of you, and where the platform keeps it. Evidence, not a legal opinion.

RuleWhat it asks of youWhere the platform keeps it
Certification schemes Organic and other schemes, as certificates a lot must carry. Each certificate with its issuer and evidence level; a lot rule can stop a lot that lacks one.
National rulesCountry profiles for what each jurisdiction asks for.Product codes, units and records in the scheme of each country, from HS and NCM to CN and HTS.
