Feed quality tells you how much you can lean on a delivery's readings. It looks at the data, not at the goods: a feed graded A can still show a temperature outside the agreed range, and a feed graded E says nothing bad about the goods. It is not a pass mark and not a compliance verdict.
The letter and the score
The tag shows Feed quality with a letter from A to E. Select it to see the score out of 100 and the two main problems in plain words, for example "2 gaps, longest 47 min". With fewer than ten expected readings the tag says Not enough data.
| Letter | Score |
|---|---|
| A | 90 or more |
| B | 75 to 89 |
| C | 60 to 74 |
| D | 40 to 59 |
| E | below 40 |
What the score counts
- Completeness: how many of the expected readings arrived. A source expects one reading per its declared interval while the delivery is under way, from pick-up until the goods are delivered. Readings measured after the hand-over don't count.
- Gaps: stretches longer than twice the interval with no reading.
- Refused readings: the share the validation report refused.
- Delay to arrive: how long readings take from the device to A-REX.
- Device clock: whether the device's clock looks off.
- Duplicates: readings sent twice.
Where it shows
On the delivery's card in the lot's Deliveries tab, next to the readings chart, and on each source's page under Readings, with completeness and score per day over 30 days and the deliveries the source fed.
How to improve it
Register each device with its real interval, keep its clock synchronized, assign it to the delivery before pick-up and upload the logger file when a live feed had gaps.
