A certificate on one of your lots can be wrong: it belongs to another lot, its figures do not match the lab report, or its issuer was not allowed to issue it. Only the issuer can withdraw it, but your company can say openly that it disagrees: Mark as disputed records your reason and evidence, shows the certificate as disputed by your company and tells the issuer.
Who may dispute a certificate
The company's owner and administrators, with a fresh second factor: the console asks for your code when you send it, and again when you withdraw a dispute. The mark shows at once; it does not wait for an approval. A certificate your company signed itself is not disputed: withdraw it instead.
Mark a certificate as disputed
- Open Certificates, select On the lots, open the menu of the certificate's row and select Mark as disputed. On the lot's page, the same choice is in the certificate's menu.
- Under What is wrong, choose Wrong lot, Wrong information, Document not valid, Issuer not authorized for this, Suspected fraud or Other.
- Write the Reason, from 10 to 2,000 characters. The issuer reads it.
- Add at least one piece of Evidence, up to 10: documents you upload (up to 20 MB each), links starting with https (Add link) or notes (Add note).
- Select Mark as disputed and enter your code.
What happens next
- The certificate shows Disputed by ‹your company› everywhere it shows: on the lot's page, in On the lots and in Technical lots. The dispute is listed in Disputes, under Disputes your company raised.
- The issuer is told. When the issuer is another company on A-REX, the console says The issuer was told on A-REX. When it is not on A-REX, the console says Tell the issuer yourself: it is not on A-REX and shows the Issuer contact from your directory when you have one.
- The certificate still counts until its issuer withdraws it, in your rules too. A dispute records who disputes what and why; it does not prove the certificate wrong.
Only the issuer withdraws a certificate
Your company cannot withdraw a certificate it did not sign. Withdraw only shows on certificates signed by your company or by a party whose account your company keeps. For any other, mark it as disputed and ask the issuer to withdraw it. See Withdraw a certificate.
Withdraw a dispute
Open Certificates, select Disputes and select Withdraw dispute on its row under Disputes your company raised, or choose Withdraw dispute in the certificate's menu. Why (optional) takes a reason. Enter your code. The mark goes away, the dispute and its history stay on record, and an issuer on A-REX is told.
If your company issued the certificate
When another company on A-REX disputes a certificate your company signed, you get a notification that links to it. In Certificates, Disputes lists it under About certificates you signed, with the company, the lot, the certificate, what is wrong, the reason, its links and notes, and the number of documents. The documents stay with the company that raised it. If you agree, withdraw the certificate.
