Many loggers travel with the goods and are read only at arrival. Upload the file to the delivery and its readings join the delivery's chart, checked against the same rules as readings sent live. Readings from a file are marked Declared by your company, and files can be older than a week.
Upload the file
- Open the lot, then its Deliveries tab, and find the delivery. In Readings, choose Upload logger file.
- Drop the file: CSV, TSV, XLSX, EPCIS (JSON-LD or XML) or the PDF report of the logger.
Confirm how the file is written
For a CSV or TSV file A-REX reads the first rows and proposes the Delimiter, the Decimal mark, the Date format and what each column holds. Nothing is guessed silently: check each one. Set the Time zone of the times when the times are written without one.
If a saved template has the same columns, it is offered first in Template. A spreadsheet (XLSX) always uses a saved template; without one, save the sheet as CSV.
Only the measurements that apply to the delivery's product are offered. Grain moisture, for example, is offered for grain and coffee, not for fruit.
Check, then import
Choose Check. Nothing is stored yet: you see the report grouped by problem, with row numbers and how to fix each one. When it is right, choose Import: the button says how many valid readings it stores. Use Download refused rows to get the rows that were refused, with a problem column, fix them and upload them again.
Tick Save as a template so next time the same columns are offered at once.
PDF reports
Reports of some common loggers are read in beta: built from public descriptions. A report is read only when A-REX recognizes its layout. If it doesn't, the check says so plainly and nothing of the file is stored: send the logger's CSV export instead.
