Who we are
A-REX Platform is provided by A-REX (company in formation). Until A-REX is constituted, its founders act for it. The contact for these terms is [email protected].
A-REX Platform is one implementation of the open A-REX standard. The standard is kept by the A-REX Foundation, under its own terms. Using A-REX Platform makes you a customer of A-REX, not a member of the Foundation, and the standard does not depend on this service.
What these terms cover
These terms apply to this site and to A-REX Platform: the console, the API, the MCP server, the assistant and agents, and the public pages and documents the service produces. The service is for companies and professionals; it is not offered to consumers. If you accept these terms for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it.
A signed order or a separate agreement with A-REX prevails over these terms where they differ. A data processing agreement will set out how A-REX processes a company's records for it; until then, the privacy policy describes it.
The alpha
A-REX Platform is in alpha. Companies use it in sandboxes and on test ledgers while the production service is prepared. During the alpha:
- the service may change, pause or lose data, and it carries no promise of availability;
- records on test ledgers are practice records and are not evidence for a buyer, an auditor or an authority;
- billing runs in Stripe's test mode and nothing is charged;
- the ledger's reference implementation has not yet been independently audited, and no production ledger is offered.
The security page lists what is still being finished before the production service, and says when each part is done.
Accounts and approvals
An organization groups one or more companies. Each member gets access only to the companies they are assigned, with a role in each. Keep your sign-in methods, passkeys and second factor to yourself; you answer for what is done with them until you tell us they were lost.
Every change to a company's records is a proposal that a member with the right to approve it confirms with a second factor. The assistant, automations, integrations and agents can prepare proposals; none of them can approve, publish, send or sign. The company decides who approves.
Your records
A company's records belong to that company. A-REX processes them to provide the service and on the company's instructions, keeps them apart from every other company's, and does not sell them or use them to train AI models.
You answer for what you record: that you may record it, that personal data in it is handled lawfully, and that it is accurate to your knowledge. Every fact on the platform states who declared it and who stands behind it; A-REX does not check the truth of what companies record.
You give A-REX the rights it needs to store, process, display and transmit your records to provide the service, including to the partners, verifiers and outside agents your company chooses to share with.
Public ledgers and keys
A company's records are also written to public ledgers so that anyone can check them without trusting A-REX. What is written there cannot be changed or deleted by anyone, A-REX included, so the ledger holds no personal data: only lot records without names, fingerprints, and the public addresses of the keys that approve.
A company's ledger is administered by its own administration account, which needs several keys to act. With managed custody, A-REX keeps one of three keys and can never act alone; with keys on your devices, A-REX holds none. Managed custody is offered only where the company's country allows it. Losing your keys can make your ledger impossible to administer; keep your recovery passkey safe.
What a record is, and is not
A lot record on A-REX Platform is a traceability record of a physical lot and of who holds it. It confers no title to the goods and creates no pledge over them. It cannot be redeemed for the goods, it pays no yield, it is not a means of payment and it is not offered as an investment. It has no price on the platform.
The platform shows evidence and gaps; it never states that a lot or a company complies with a regulation or a scheme. Your company remains responsible for its own declarations, such as an EUDR due diligence statement filed in TRACES.
AI features
The assistant, Humboldt and agents use AI models provided by Anthropic. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. They explain and prepare; your people decide and approve. Check what they say before you rely on it.
Fees
The Pilot plan is free. Paid plans are agreed in an order before they apply. During the alpha nothing is charged.
Acceptable use
The acceptable use policy states what you must not do with the service. It is part of these terms.
Intellectual property
A-REX keeps all rights in the software, the console, the site and their content, except what belongs to you or to others. These terms give you the right to use the service while your account is active; they transfer no other right.
The A-REX standard is published by the A-REX Foundation under CC0-1.0, and its reference implementation under the MIT licence; those licences apply to them as published.
Leaving
A company can leave at any time. Before it does, it can export its records in open formats, such as EPCIS 2.0, and anyone can keep checking its public records and sealed reports without an A-REX account. We may close an account, after notice, for a serious or repeated breach of these terms; where the breach puts the service or other companies at risk, we may suspend access at once and tell you why.
Responsibility
During the alpha the service is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, A-REX is not liable for indirect damage, lost profits or lost data, and its total liability is limited to what the company paid A-REX in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Security reports
Report a vulnerability in A-REX Platform to [email protected], with the subject A-REX security: and a short title, and do not make it public before we have answered. Vulnerabilities in the standard or its reference implementation go to the Foundation, as its terms describe. There is no bug bounty yet.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. If a change matters to companies already using the service, we tell them by e-mail or in the console before it applies. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
The governing law and the competent courts will be stated here when A-REX is constituted. Until then, these terms do not remove any protection the law of your country gives you.
