Readings without a position say nothing about a person. A position is different: it tells where a driver was, so A-REX treats every position as personal data of the driver, the same way in the EU, the United States and Latin America.
Who sees positions
The delivery's sender and its carrier see the positions on the delivery's card. The receiver sees the other readings and the arrival, not the track. Keys and connected apps get positions only when they were given access to personal data.
How long the track is kept
A-REX keeps the precise track for 60 days by default. In Readings, under Positions and privacy, owners and admins can keep it longer, up to a year, only with a documented purpose: proof of delivery, claims and disputes, or insurance. After that only the stops remain, where the vehicle stood for 15 minutes or more. Changing it asks for your second factor.
What is never stored
Speed, the driver's name, driving hours and driving events are never stored, even when a platform sends them; the report says so. A position measured before pick-up or after settlement of the delivery is not stored either.
What your company should do
Tell drivers that positions are collected and why. Where the law asks for it, consult the works council first (for example in Germany and France). In the United States give the notice your state requires, and in Latin America follow LGPD, Ley 25.326 or Ley 1581 as they apply.
